Allegra

Allegra is used to treat seasonal allergic rhinitis, including sneezing, rhinorrhea, ithcning, etc. It comes in form of tablets and capsules. It is usually prescribed to adults and children starting at 6 years old. Allegra is not prescribed to children under 6 years of age.

This medicine is taken orally. Consult your doctor about dosage and frequency of intake. Usually average dose is taken 2 times a day washed down with a glass of water.

Do not take Allegra before consulting your medical specialist, especially if you have some serious medical conditions like heart disease or kidney disease. Some patients can have an allergy to fexofenidine. Allegra is not recommended to pregnant women. It is not proved that this medicine does no harm to fetus. Consult your doctor before taking Allegra if you are pregnant or nursing baby. Components of Allegra may pass in breast mild and affect your baby.

If you missed your regular dose wait for the next scheduled time to take tablet. Do not take two doses at once. Follow the dosing and intake frequency exactly under the prescription of your doctor.

Contact your medical specialist if any of side effects listed below took place:

• allergic reactions
• difficulty breathing
• nausea
• upset stomach

Storage

This medicine should be stored at a room temperature not higher than 25°C/77°F. Keep Allegra away from moisture.

Overdose

Get immediate medical care if you have taken more than prescribed quantity of this medicine. Overdosed Allegra may cause drowsiness and sizziness.

More Information

Allegra should be taken only after consulting a doctor or pharmacist. This drug should be taken carefully if combined with other medicines. Especially be careful with such medicines as digoxin, monoamine oxidase inhibitors, certain blood pressure drugs, some cough-and-cold drugs and adrenaline-like medicines. Using Allegra may affect allergy test results. Keep away from taking this medicine few days before testing.
