Depakote

Depakote is prescribed to contol seizures. Sometimes it is prescribed to treat manic episodes, migraine headaches and some other medical conditions.

Notify your doctor of having experienced serious medical conditions including loss of metabolic problems, brain disorders, pancreatitis, metabolic disorders or liver problems (yellowing of eyes and skin, vomiting, unusual weakness and tiredness, metabolic problems, brain disorders). Tell your medical specialist about all prescription and over-the-counter drugs you take.

Consult your doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine. Take Depakote whole. Do not crush or chew the tablet. It is recommended to take this medicine with meals in order to avoid stomach upset. Depakote should be stored in cool and dark place at room temperature. Do not take 2 doses at once if you missed your regular dose. Wait until the time of your next dose intake. Try not to miss daily dose.

• abdominal cramps
• change in weight
• diarrhea
• stomach pain
• nausea
• vomiting
• yellowing of skin and eyes
• swelling of face
• loss of appetite
• unusual weakness
• change in menstrual period
• bruising
• tremor
• extreme tiredness

If you take too much.

Depakote overdose may result in loss of consciousness, deep sleep and irregular heartbeat. Apply for emergency help in your local poison control center in case if overdose occurred.

Contact your medical specialist if this medicine doesn't work. Keep low-fat diet during Depakote treatment. Do not give your medicine to someone else for whom it was not prescribed. Keep this drug away from children and pets.
