Pamelor

Pamelor is used to treat depression. Sometimes it is prescribed to treat other medical conditions.

Tell your doctor if you have experienced some medical conditions like any kinds of allergies, glaucoma, hypertension, urinating problems, seizures, porphyria, pregnancy or breast-feeding. Notify your doctor of taking any other prescription and over-the-counter drugs, including paroxetine, guanfacine, carbamazepine, clonidine, fluvoxamine, cimetidine, dicumarol, guanadrel, cisapride, terfenadine,dofetilide, macrolide antibiotic, guanethidine, astemizole, tramadol, fluconazole, sympathomimetic, phenothiazine, fluoxetine, sertraline, terbinafine or mibefradil. Do not start or stop taking Pamelor without your doctor's approval. Ask your doctor to tell you details of Pamelor treatment.

Usually this medicine is prescribed to be taken 1 time daily. Do not double your scheduled dose. Take this medicine exactly as your medical specialist prescribed. Try not to miss your regular dose. Pamelor should be stored at room temperature in dark cool place.

Cautions

Do not stop taking Pamelor even if you are feeling much better. Notify your medical specialist of taking this medicine before having surgery, dental treatment or other medical treatment. Elder patients experience side effects more often. Using Pamelor may affect ability to drive a car or perform other potentially dangerous activities. Decrease alcohol beverages consumption. Sometimes using Pamelor may result in dizziness and fainting. Notify your medical specialist of pregnancy or breast-feeding. Pamelor is claimed to affect human fetus. This medicine passes into breast milk and affects newborn. Do not use this medicine if you are pregnant or breast-feeding. Avoid staying under the sun for a long period. Use special protective cloths and sunburn cream. Avoid overheating or performing exhausting activities.

Possible side effects

Apply for medical treatment or contact your doctor, nurse or pharmacist in case if any side effects from using Pamelor took place. Taking this medicine may result in:

• drowsiness
• dizziness
• diarrhea
• headache
• nausea
• weakness
• heartburn
• changes in weight
• unusual weakness
• excess sweating
• irregular heartbeat
• hair loss
• shakiness
• nervousness
• fever
• fainting
• itching
• unusual bleeding
• bruising
• seizures
• constipation
• vision changes
• twitching of the face and tongue
• difficulty speaking
• yellowing of the skin and eyes
• hallucinations
• chest pain

If you take too much

Pamelor verdose may result in weakness, flushing, irregular heartbeat, confusion, enlarged pupils, dry mouth, slow breathing, seizures, drowsiness and loss of consciousness. Apply for emergency help in your local poison control center in case if overdose intake occurred.

Additional information

Contact your medical specialist if this medicine doesn't work after 4 weeks treatment. Do not give your medicine to someone else. Keep this drug away from children and pets. Do not use this medicine if it is overdue.
