Paxil

Paxil is used to treat depression, generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, and posttraumatic stress disorder in adults and some other conditions caused by imbalance of serotonin in brain.

Paxil could be taken on empty stomach or with some food or water. Do not start of stop using Paxil without your doctor's approval. Take this medicine strictly according to the directions of your medical specialist. Average dose of Paxil is a tablet once per day, but sometimes your doctor may prescribe you larger dose. Do not increase dose without approval of your medical specialist.

Notify your doctor of having special medic conditions, including epilepsy, kidney disease, liver disease, etc. Inform your medical specialist if you experienced suicidal thoughts or manic disorder. Your doctor will prescribe you special dosing and treatment period suitable for you.

Warning for women: Do not use this medicine if you are pregnant or nursing baby. It is not approved that this drug is absolutely safe for human fetus. Paxil may affect newborn baby. Components of Paxil exceed in breast milk and may affect newborn.

Consult a doctor or pharmacist about possible risks.

Each dose should be taken at the same time each day. If you miss your dose, wait until time for next dose comes. Never take 2 doses simultaneously. Try not to miss your regular dose.

Consult your doctor, nurse or pharmacist in case of any side effects appearing during Paxil treatment. Taking this medicine sometimes may cause:

• irregular heartbeat
• hypertension
• allergy
• low blood pressure
• dizziness
• severe headache
• fever
• unusual bleeding
• weakness
• difficulty breathing
• chills

Some other side effects may appear while taking Paxil. Contact your doctor if you experience any undesired side effects from Paxil treatment.

Paxil should be stored at room temperature not higher than 25°C/77°F

Overdose

Paxil overdose may cause tremor, drowsiness, enlarged pupils, vomiting, agitation, and nausea. Sometimes it results in hypotension and tachycardia. Apply for emergency care or contact your medical specialist if overdose occurred.

Sometimes taking this medicine may result in drowsiness and dizziness, so you should keep away from driving a car and performing some other potentially dangerous activities. Abstain from drinking alcohol during the period of Paxil treatment. Otherwise it may increase side effects of Paxil using.
