Tamiflu

Tamiflu is usually prescribed to treat illnesses caused by influenza infections.

Take Tamiflu not later than two days after you experienced the symptoms of influenza. Average dosing of this medicine is 75mg two times a day. Tamiflu may be taken on empty stomach or with some food. Usually treatment lasts for about 5 days.

It is not approved that Tamiflu is absolutely safe for newborn baby while breast-feeding. Take this medicine carefully if you are nursing baby. Do not miss your annual flu vaccination.

Each dose should be taken approximately at the same time each day. If you miss your dose, wait until time for next dose comes. Never take 2 doses simultaneously. Try not to miss your regular dose.

Consult to your doctor, nurse or pharmacist if you are bothered with any side effects appearing during Tamiflu treatment. Taking this medicine sometimes may cause:

• vomiting
• diarrhea
• dizziness
• cough
• fatigue
• insomnia
• abdominal pain
• nausea.

This medicine should be stored at a temperature of 2-8 ºC. Avoid freezing Tamiflu.

Overdose

Tamiflu overdose may cause vomiting and nausea. Apply for emergency care or contact your medical specialist if overdose occurred.

It is recommended start Tamiflu treatment as soon as you experienced first signs of flu sympthoms.
