Amoxil

Amoxil is penicillin class antibiotic used to treat various types of infections. It is prescribed to treat gonorrhea, pneumonia, tonsillitis, urinary tract infections, skin infections, etc . It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.

How Taken

Usual frequency of taking Amoxil is 3 times a day. Take this drug directly as your medical specialist prescribed you. Do not start or stop taking Amoxil without your doctor's approval. Do not increase or decrease your daily dosing without doctor's approval. This medicine comes in pediatric drops, liquid, chewable tablets or capsules. Pediatric drops are measured with special bottle dropper. Liquid Amoxil should be shaken well before use. If you take Amoxil in form of tablets, chew them thoroughly. Amoxil in capsules should be washed up with a glass of clear water.

Discuss all the details of using Amoxil with your doctor or pharmacist. Taking this medicine sometimes may cause allergic reaction to cephalosporin or penicillin. Notify your medical specialist of pregnancy or breast-feeding. This medicine passes into breast milk and affects newborn.

If you missed your regular dose, wait for the next scheduled time to take tablet. Do not take two doses at once. Follow the dosing and intake frequency exactly under the prescription of your doctor.

Storage

This medicine should be stored at a room temperature. Keep Amoxil away from moisture, heat and light. Keep it away out of reach of children and pets. Liquid Amoxil should be stored in refrigerator. Avoid freezing. Do not store and use outdated drug.

Overdose

Get immediate medical care if you have taken more than prescribed quantity of this medicine. Overdosed Amoxil may cause weakness, twitching, seizures, come, confusion or muscle spasms.
