Zithromax

Zithromax is a medicine used in bacterial infections treatment. It is prescribed to treat tonsillitis, ear infections, bronchitis, skin infections and some other infections.

Usually Zithromax is taken once a day. Do not start or stop taking this medicine without your medical specialist's approval. Take Zithromax exactly as your doctor prescribed you. You may take it in form of tablet, capsule or liquid. This drug is taken orally. Capsules or tablets should be washed up with a glass of water. You make take tablet or capsule on empty stomach or with some food. Zithromax in form of liquid should be taken before or after meals.

Before taking Zithromax notify your doctor of having liver disease or being pregnant. This medicine is not expected to affect human fetus. It is FDA pregnancy category B. Consult to your medical specialist if you are planning to become pregnant. It is not approved that Zithromax does not pass into breast milk. Talk to your doctor if you are nursing newborn in order to avoid unexpected consequences.

Try not to miss your regular dose. Each dose should be taken according to directions of your pharmacist or physician. If you miss your dose, wait until time for next dose comes. Do not take 2 doses simultaneously.

Consult to your doctor, nurse or pharmacist in case of any side effects appearing during Zithromax treatment. Taking this medicine sometimes may cause:

• yellowing of the skin or eyes
• abdominal pain
• bleeding or bruising
• hives
• difficulty breathing
• closing of the throat
• fatigue
• swelling of face, tongue or lips
• nausea
• rash
• headache
• vomiting
• dizziness
• diarrhea.

Some other side effects may appear while taking Zithromax. Contact your doctor if you experience any undesired side effects from Zithromax treatment.

Keep this medicine tightly closed. Store Zithromax liquid at a temperature not higher than 30°C/86°F. Zithromax tablets shoud be stored at about 15°C.

Ovedose

Zithromax overdose may cause diarrhea, abdominal pain and nausea. Apply for emergency care or contact your medical specialist if overdose occurred.

More Information

Sometimes using Zithromax may result in increased sensitivity of the skin to sunlight. Try to avoid staying on the sunlight for a long time. Protect yourself with special closing and sunburn cream.
