Isoptin

Isoptin is used in hypertension and chest pain treatment. It is prescribed to patients for preventing fast heart rate.

Do not start or stop using Isoptin without your doctor's approval. Do not stop taking this drug even if you feel better. You should strictly follow the directions of your medical specialist and not to take less or more than prescribed dose. Notify your doctor of having any special medical conditions, including pregnancy or breast-feeding.

Warning: do not take Isoptin together with rifampin, digoxin, quinidine, digitoxin, carbamazepine or theophylline. Consult your doctor regarding all the details of using this medicine.

This medicine may be taken with or without food. Do not drink grapefruit juice while Isoptin treatment. Try to take your dose of Isoptin regularly at the same time daily. This drug should be stored in cool dark place at a room temperature. Try not to miss your regular dose. Do not double-up your regular dose. If you miss your dose, wait until time for next dose comes.

Cautions

Notify your medical specialist of using Isoptin before having emergency care, surgery, dental treatment or any other medical treatment. Using this medicine may affect ability to drive or perform other potentially hazardous activities. Tell your doctor about using any other prescription or non-prescription drugs. Interaction of Isoptin and some other certain medicines may lead to unwished consequences. You may need to pass some medical test regularly. Do not use this medicine if you are pregnant or nursing baby without first consulting your physician. It is not approved that this drug is absolutely safe for human fetus.

Consult your doctor, nurse or pharmacist in case of any side effects appearing during Isoptin treatment. Taking this medicine sometimes may cause:

• headache
• dizziness
• lightheadedness
• nausea
• fatigue
• constipation
• shortness of breath
• irregular pulse
• swelling of feet or hands

Isoptin overdose may cause severe dizziness, irregular hearbeat, loss of consciousness and fainting. Apply for emergency care or contact your medical specialist if overdose occurred.

Keep this drug away from the reach of children and pets. Do not give this medicine to others whom it was not prescribed.
