Common uses

Amaryl is prescribed for sugar diabetes treatment.

Before using

Notify your doctor of taking any other prescription or over-the-counter medicines, including monoamine oxidase inhibitors, chloramphenicol, jenfluramine, phenylbutazone, oxyphenbutazone, ace inhibitors, diuretics, etc. Inform your doctor of having any medical conditions like pregnancy, breast-feeding or allergy. Ask your medical specialist for details.

Directions

Amaryl is taken with food. Do not take this medicine of empty stomach. Do not start or stop taking any medicine without your doctor's approval. Follow the directions provided by your medical specialist.

Amaryl should be stored in cool and dark place at room temperature. Keep it in tightly closed container.

Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. Take this medicine with breakfast or your first main meal. If you missed your regular dose, wait for the next scheduled time to take tablet. Do not double up your regular dose. Follow the dosing and intake frequency exactly under the prescription of your doctor.

Cautions

Inform your doctor of having signs of hypoglycemia during Amaryl treatment. Notify your doctor of having experienced tremor, unusual tiredness, weaknesss, rapid heartbeat, headache, vision changes, tremor or sweating. You may need special treatment and dietary plan. Keep away from direct sunbeams. Use special clothing and sunburn cream. Alcohol beverages are not recommended during using this medicine. Follow the instruction of your doctor or specialist during Amaryl treatment. You may need to pass additional tests to avoid possible side effects. Discuss with your doctor possible risks of using this medicine if you are planning to become pregnant. It is not recommended to breast-feed while using Amaryl. This medicine may pass into breast milk and influence newborn.

Possible side effects

Contact your medical specialist if any of side effects listed below took place.

• headache
• unusual weakness
• dizziness
• nausea.

If you take too much

Actos overdose may cause seizures, sweating, lightheadedness, confusion, tremor, loss of consciousness and rapid pulse. Apply for emergency help in your local poison control center in case if overdose occurred.

Additional information

Keep this drug away from the reach of children and pets. Do not give this medicine to others whom it was not prescribed.

Drug interactions may cause side effects or neutralize the treatment. Consult your doctor or pharmacist about the interaction of Amaryl and other prescription and over-the-counter medicines.
