Zantac

Common uses

Zantac is used for ulcers prevention and treatment. It is prescribed to patients with some other medical conditions including gastroesophageal reflux disease.

Before using

Do not start of stop using Zantac without your doctor's approval. Do not stop taking this drug even if you feel better. You should strictly follow the directions of your medical specialist and not to take less or more than prescribed dose. Notify your doctor of taking any other prescription or over-the-counter drugs including ketokonazole, itraconazole or cephalosporins. Inform your doctor of having any special medical conditions. Consult to your medical specialist if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.

Directions

This drug should be stored in cool dark place at a room temperature. Try not to miss your regular dose. Do not double-up your regular dose. If you miss your dose, wait until time for next dose comes.

Cautions

Using this medicine may affect ability to drive or perform other potentially hazardous activities. Interaction of Zantac and some other certain medicines may lead to unwished consequences. You may need to pass some medical test regularly. Do not use this medicine if you are pregnant or nursing baby without first consulting to your physician. It is not approved that this drug is absolutely safe for human fetus. Zantac passes into breast-milk and can influence newborn.

Possible side effects

Consult to your doctor, nurse or pharmacist in case of any side effects appearing during Zantac treatment. Taking this medicine sometimes may cause:

• headache
• itching
• dizziness
• difficulty breathing
• rash
• swelling

If you take too much

Zantac overdose may cause rapid heartbeat, difficulty breathing, vomiting, tremors and restlessness. Apply for emergency care or contact your medical specialist if overdose occurred.

Additional information

Keep this drug away from the reach of children and pets. Do not give this medicine to others whom it was not prescribed.
