Why is this medication prescribed?

Celebrexed is prescribed to treat arthritis, including rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. Sometimes it may be prescribed to relieve menstrual pain. Celocoxib is also used to reduce the number of polyps in large intestine and rectum during surgery treatment.

How should this medicine be used?

Celebrex should be usually taken 1 or 2 times a day. It may be taken on empty stomach or with meals depending on the dose you are taking. Consult your medical specialist which dose is optimal for you. It is recommended to take dose at the same time each day. This increases effect of Celebex treatment. Do not start or stop taking this medical without your doctor's approval. Do not increase or decrease prescribed daily dose. Ask your medical specialist to explain the details of Celebrex treatment.

What special precautions should I follow?

Notify your doctor of having experienced nasal polyps, liver disease, kidney disease, asthma, swelling of lower legs, feet, ankles, hands or arms. Inform your medical specialist if you are pregnant or breast-feeding. Tell your doctor if you are planning to become pregnant and discuss possible risks for fetus. Notify your medical specialist of taking Celecoxib before dental treatment and surgery.

What special dietary instructions should I follow?

There is no need to follow any special dietary instructions.

What should I do if I forget a dose?

If you missed your regular dose, wait for the next scheduled time to take tablet. Do not take two doses at once. Follow the dosing and intake frequency exactly under the prescription of your doctor.

What side effects can this medication cause?

Consult your doctor, nurse or pharmacist in case of any side effects appearing during Celecoxib treatment. Taking this medicine sometimes may cause:

• cold symptoms
• bloating
• diarrhea
• sore throat.

What storage conditions are needed for this medication?

This medication should be stored in tightly closed container at a room temperature. Do not store this medicine in the bathroom. Do not use outdated medication.
