Ultram

Ultram is pain-relieving class medicine. It is used to treat pain (pain caused by surgery or cancer, as well as joint pain). Sometimes medical specialists prescribe Ultram for some other conditions treatment. Taking this medicine decreases susceptibleness to pain due to reducing of nerve signals in the body.

Ultram can be taken on an empty stomach as well as with some food. You can also use this medicine washed down with a glass of water. Average frequency of intake is about each 4-6 hours. Be careful while taking Ultram as it may be addictive. Before taking this drug you should carefully read the patient leaflet enclosed oand prescription label. It is strongly recommended to follow the prescription given by your doctor. Do not exceed prescribed dose.

Warnings/Precautions

Consult to your medical specialist before taking this medicine. It is prescribed to adults and children over 16 years of age. Elder patients above 75 years of age have more chances to experience side effects from using Ultram. In this case it is recommended to take not more than 300mg of this medicine per day. Do not take more than 300mg if you are above 75 years old. It may result in dangerous consequences. Notify your doctor of having any kind of diseases (kidney or liver diseases) or alcohol and drug dependence. Ultram should be taken with utmost caution at the period of pregnancy of breast-feeding. It is the FDA pregnancy category C. It is not approved that Ultram does not affect fetus or newborn.

Missed Dose

Do not take 2 doses at once if you missed your regular dose. Wait until the time for your next dose intake comes. Try not to miss daily dose.

Possible Side Effects

Contact to your medical specialist if you experience any of the side effects listed below:

• hepatitis
• stomatitis
• liver failure
• dizziness
• headache
• upset stomach
• vomiting
• diarrhea
• drowsiness
• blurred vision
• rapid heartbeat
• itching
• urination troubles
• difficulty breathing
• redness
• swelling

Some other side effects may occur. It is recommended to inform your doctor at the first signs of any unusual side effects.

Storage

Keep Ultram in tightly closed container at a temperature about 25-30°C

Overdose

Ultram overdose may result in weak breathing, shallow and seizures. Apply for emergency care or contact your medical specialist if overdose occurred.

More Information

Warning: Abstain from drinking alcohol during the period of Ultram using. Otherwise it may result in difficulty breathing and liver failure.

Sometimes taking of this medicine may result in atony and dizziness, so you should keep away from driving a car and performing some other potentially dangerous activities. Do not take Ultram together with other medicines, including sedatives, antihistamines, tranquilizers and sleeping pills. Consult to your doctor about drugs interaction and their consequences.
